Animal cruelty is not just bad behaviour, it’s often a sign of psychological problems in the person hurting the animal. It is often seen that people who abuse animals tend to have low empathy, meaning they either don’t feel or don’t care about the pain they cause.
Recently, public‑safety cameras brought a disturbing case of animal cruelty into the spotlight. The images show a woman interacting violently with a small dog in a public area, kicking and throwing it around.

Woman gets caught ‘throwing and kicking’ a tiny dog on camera
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Florida, US, arrested 33‑year‑old Imania Davis after releasing disturbing footage showing her throwing a small dog onto the road and then kicking it, according to reports from FOX 13 News.
The video showed her carrying the dog and then “willingly and intentionally” throwing it onto the pavement “not once, but twice.” The footage also captured her kicking the animal, which officials say shows a clear and deliberate use of violence against a defenseless creature.
Deputies responding to the scene took the injured animal, identified as a 1‑year‑old male Maltese pup, to a veterinarian, where it was treated for a broken leg.
The incident, recorded by the Real Time Crime Center cameras, led to six counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals being filed against Davis.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister described the attack in blunt terms at a press conference. According to Fox 13 News, he said, “The terror she inflicted on this poor, helpless and loving little puppy ends today,” considering that the dog appeared to pose no threat and was simply seeking affection.
The woman has been arrested and fined for this awful offence
Sheriff Chronister said, “I truly feel that anyone who would harm and inflict the type of pain she did to this little puppy has a special place in hell.”
Davis appeared in court via video conference on Friday and is being held on a $75,000 bond while the investigation continues. The puppy is currently receiving medical care at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, where staff say they are heartbroken by such cases but glad they can offer the animal a safe place to heal.
