Vamsi shared examples from his productions, noting variations in budget allocation based on film scale and focus, with some projects prioritizing actor fees.
Filmmaker Naga Vamsi has bankrolled multiple Tollywood projects. Recently, he shared his thoughts on how budgeting has changed in recent times. He recently shared how the system has become more balanced and sensible, especially in the last year. According to him, budgeting in cinema is now a healthier space than before.While speaking with Gulte, Naga Vamsi mentioned that over the last six months to one year, filmmakers have started paying more attention to where money is going. "The practice has become healthier now, it has become healthier in the last 6 months/one year," he said.

Explains how a film budget should be divided

He also shared how the proportion of the budget is being made. He believes that planning the budget properly helps films survive and perform better. He said that for a big film, the budget should be divided wisely. Around 40 percent should go to actor remuneration. Around 50 percent should be spent on making the film. The remaining 10 percent should be used for prints and advertising.He gave examples from his own productions. In the film ‘Kingdom’, more money was spent on making. The focus there was on scale and visuals. In ‘Mass Jathara’, the film followed the balanced formula he mentioned earlier.
However, Naga Vamsi also mentioned that some films work differently. He said that in projects like ‘Mad Square’ and ‘Daaku Maharaj’, the budget split changed. In those films, around 50 percent went to remuneration and 50 percent went into production.

Recent work and box office run

His last film included Ravi Teja starrer ‘Mass Jathara’, which was released on October 31st. The movie received an overwhelming reaction on the box office. According to Sacnilk, it only made over Rs 21.64 crore worldwide.
