'Sirai': Soori praises performances of lead stars, calls the real-life inspired drama a “compelling drama”

'Sirai', which was released in theaters on Christmas, has received rave reviews from the audience, critics, and industry people. After watching the film, comedian Soori heaped praise on the film’s script and the actors. Soori called ‘Sirai’ an “honest movie” and said that while watching the film, there were a few instances where he was just looking at the screen and praying every time the protagonist was in danger. He also complimented director Suresh Rajakumari for directing an excellent story and praised Vikram Prabhu and newcomer Akshay Kumar for their performances.Soori called 'Sirai' as a “compelling drama” that has elements of the judicial system. Even when the hero doesn’t respond as a typical hero, he makes some phenomenal decisions, and also the blunders he makes as a cop are too funny to miss. Overall 'Sirai' is an engaging and enthralling film to watch. As Soori noted, “The world doesn’t exist in binaries,” highlighting the film’s intriguing twists and narrative depth. The narrative of 'Sirai' was penned down by a well-known Tamizh, who earlier directed 'Taanakkaran'. The film has its inspiration based on a factual account of a previous police officer, rich with fictional musical embellishments. Backed by a premium production house that recently financed leading hits like 'Master' and 'Leo' featuring Vijay, Sirai is the maiden venture for Akshay Kumar.The cast also features Anishma Anilkumar, known for 'I AM Kadhalan', making her Tamil debut. Other notable cast members include Ananda Thambirajah and Remya Suresh, while the music direction was in the capable hands of Justin Prabhakaran, the editing choice was Philomin Raj, and it was captured beautifully by cinematographer Madhesh Manickam to make 'Sirai' an accomplished presentation of fine art.
