The much-anticipated pan-Indian film 'Vrusshabha,' featuring the legendary Mohanlal, is facing a rocky start at the box office, as it saw a sharp decline in earnings on its second day.
Mohanlal’s pan-Indian film 'Vrusshabha' is facing a tough time at the box office. The film saw a further drop on Day 2. On Friday the movie managed to collect only Rs 32 lakhs in India net. This came after a low opening on Day 1. Even with Mohanlal leading the film the numbers are not picking up as expected.

Day 1 and day 2 collection details

As reported by the Sacnilk website, on its first day 'Vrusshabha' collected Rs 60 lakhs in India net. Malayalam version brought in Rs 47 lakhs while Hindi earned Rs 3 lakhs and Telugu earned Rs 10 lakhs.

On Day 2 the total dropped to Rs 32 lakhs. Malayalam earned Rs 20 lakhs. Hindi Rs 1 lakh. Telugu Rs 10 lakhs. Kannada Rs 1 lakh. The drop from Day 1 to Day 2 is around 46.67 percent. In just two days the film has collected an estimated Rs 92 lakhs.

One of Mohanlal’s lowest openings post-COVID

With only around Rs 60 lakhs on the opening day 'Vrusshabha' has become one of Mohanlal’s lowest openings in the post-COVID period. It now sits just above 'Monster' in the list.

Samarjit Lankesh on his role and experience

Actor Samarjit Lankesh, who plays Mohanlal’s son in the film, spoke to TNN about his experience. He said, “I feel incredibly blessed to have landed a role alongside Mohanlal sir and to work with such big technicians.” Talking about his character he added, “It’s an interesting and unique role. It’s a role I really hope audiences connect with.” He also said, “Vrusshabha is a complete action entertainer with strong family feelings and love.
