Santhakumari: The guiding light of the family
Before getting married, Santhakumari was from Elanthoor village in Pathanamthitta district. She shifted to Thiruvananthapuram after tying the knot with Viswanathan Nair, a former bureaucrat who worked for the Kerala government. The couple then embraced parenthood and had two handsome baby boys. However, their family faced one of the most tragic times when their elder son, Pyarelal, left the mortal world in 2000.
However, Santhakumari, despite the challenges, always remained a guiding force for the family. She was a down to earth women, who kept a low profile while her younger son became a superstar in Indian cinema. She was a calming influence on Mohanlal.
