'Every year, we make resolutions… by February it’s a joke': Jonita Doda gets real about New Year goals - Exclusive
Actress Jonita Doda, who impressed audiences with her performance in India’s first 3D romantic film Salmon 3D released in 2023 has shared her thoughts as the New Year begins. While many people are busy making long lists of goals, Jonita chose to speak honestly about what resolutions really mean to her.
She feels that New Year resolutions often start with excitement but slowly turn into jokes as the months pass. Still, this year feels different for her and she is ready to try again with a fresh and calm mindset.
She then explained why 2026 feels special to her. “This time I’m flipping the script. My resolution for 2026 is all about being kinder to myself - because, let’s be honest, I’ve spent a lifetime prioritizing everyone else.”
Jonita also shared how empathy has always been important to her. But now she understands balance better. “I believe in empathy as my core but now I’ve realized that to keep giving to others, I need to refill my own cup too.”
She stressed that discipline matters more than anything. “And the real key? Discipline.”
Talking about her busy life, she added, “Somewhere between being an actor, an entrepreneur, and juggling multiple work environments, personal time quietly slips away.”
Jonita wants to change that this year. “This year, I want to change that - to make myself a priority before the day takes over.” She feels that once self-care becomes a habit, everything else will fall into place naturally.
She revealed the name and purpose clearly. “It’s called ‘The Voice with Jonita Doda,’ and this is the year it finally happens.” She wants it to be meaningful. “More than anything, I want it to be a space where I can connect more deeply with people - listen, share, and bring more real stories to life.”
She also spoke about caring for the environment. “I want people to see that caring for our planet isn’t just some extra ‘activist’ thing - it’s a natural part of living a good life.”
Ending on a warm note, she said, “Hopefully, this time it’ll stick… And ultimately, I hope we all remember to be a little kinder to ourselves and to each other - because that’s what makes life better.”
