'Bha. Bha. Ba.' box office collections day 9: Dileep film starts slowing; Earns only Rs 50 lakhs
Dileep’s film 'Bha. Bha. Ba.' is now clearly slowing down at the box office. After a decent first week, the film is not pulling the same crowd anymore. On Day 9, the numbers dropped a lot compared to the previous days. The excitement around the film looks weaker now, and fewer people are choosing it in theatres.
According to the Sacnilk website on its ninth day, 'Bha. Bha. Ba.' collected only around Rs 50 lakhs India net. This is a sharp fall from Day 8 when the film earned about Rs 1.2 crore. The film had finished its first week with Rs 20.9 crore India net. After adding Day 9 the total collection now stands close to Rs 21.4 crore.
Theatre occupancy on Friday was also quite low. 'Bha. Bha. Ba.' recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of just 19.91 percent. Morning shows had only 12.68 percent occupancy. Afternoon shows were at 15.97 percent. Evening shows went up slightly to 19.10 percent. Night shows performed better with 31.90 percent.
'Bha. Bha. Ba.' is directed by Dhananjay Shankar. Dileep, Mohanlal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Balu Varghese, Saranya Ponvannan, and Redin Kingsley play key roles. The response to the film has been mixed.
The ETimes review says, “The film, directed by Dhananjay Shankar, and written by husband-wife actor duo Fahim Safar and Noorin Shereef, is confused in its storyline, scripting and making, even though there is a disclaimer to leave logic at the door. Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan, for example, makes films on totally whimsical themes, but they are hugely entertaining, and have engaging storylines and characterisations.”
