Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' premiere shows to face possible delays amid 'last-minute' edits: Reports
As the clock ticks down to the highly anticipated premiere of director Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, the film has seemingly hit a roadblock. According to viral buzz, the film's premiere screenings overseas and other territories may just face some delays, over 'last-minute edits' and content delivery. While there is no official word from theatre houses or the makers, reports on Venky Box office claim that screenings in North America may be affected today as "2nd half content still not sent due to last minute re-edits."

However, the portal goes on to state that theatres equipped with electronic delivery systems may still be able to host premiere shows if the final files are received in time. The post reads, "Electronic locations should be good for premieres, but hard drive locations may get cancelled if not received in a few hours which seems likely."

Reports of the film’s second half reportedly undergoing re-edits comes after the film's CBFC report went viral online. Despite the 'A' certification, the makers were asked to make 4 major changes in a list of 21 suggested changes by the board. These included cutting down of some violent scenes, including a "beheading and kicking" scene. It is also unclear if the team's "last minute re-edits" are an indicator of why the film's release in India is 6 minutes shorter than the version sent to international markets.
As per reports, the version submitted to the CBFC had a runtime of approximately 3 hours and 51 minutes, with the CBFC making additional cuts of around 1.3 minutes. Meanwhile, the overseas version of the film is reported to have a longer runtime of approximately 3 hours and 55 minutes. At present, the Hindi version of the film is expected to roll out with minimal disruption. The film is also expected to release in dubbed languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It must be noted that no official statement has been issued.'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' is scheduled to premiere today, March 18, with the official release scheduled for Thursday, March 19. While tthe film will have an undisputed run in Indian markets, it will face competition at the North American box office when it faces off against 'Project Hail Mary', the Hollywood sci-fi film starring Ryan Gosling in the lead.
