At the song launch event, Varun Dhawan talked about how 'Border' (1997) shaped the perspective of the people towards the armed forces. He stated that after watching the film, he always wished to portray a character connected to the armed forces on screen. He added that the courage and emotional resolve shown in the movie entered the hearts of the people of the country. He said it all happened because of
Sunny Deol and 'Border'. The actor went on to share that he never imagined he would be starring in the sequel of the same war drama.

Varun Dhawan on Operation Sindoor
Varun Dhawan saw India's Operation Sindoor posters at the event. He said, "Today, when I see posters of Operation Sindoor everywhere, I believe in my country. India is a country that believes in love, peace, and brotherhood, but sometimes films like 'Border' are important for young people to understand that we have the power to strike back against any threat," he said, adding that the film carries a powerful message of national pride and resilience.
Concluding his remarks, Dhawan shared a dialogue from the film that reflects its spirit, "Iss baar hum border mein ghusenge nahin, hum border hi badal denge."
The actor shared that when anyone has the guts to set eyes on the nation's land with wrong intentions, a strong response becomes necessary.
Varun Dhawan on India's retaliation strike
Last year, Varun Dhawan had paid tribute to soldiers who laid down their lives for the country during the operation. Sharing a Story post on Instagram, he wrote, "We are here only because of u," alongside images of the fallen personnel, including Jawan Murali Naik, BSF SI Md Imteyaz, Gunner Dinesh Sharma, Sepoy Sachin Yadav, Airman Kamal Kamboj, Sepoy Amit Chaudhary, IAF Sergeant Surendra Mogra, and Sepoy Suraj Yadav.
