"Kothay Tumi Pancham Da”: Usha Uthup’s AI-led homage to the music legend

Asha Audio paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary composer Rahul Dev Burman, fondly remembered as Pancham Da, with the launch of a special musical project titled “Kothay Tumi Pancham Da.” The release coincided with the maestro’s 32nd death anniversary and was unveiled at Yellow Turtle on Friday.

The song, sung by Padma Bhushan awardee Usha Uthup, has been composed by the trio Shiladitya–Raj–Som, and marks a first-of-its-kind collaboration where nostalgia meets next-gen innovation. The music video—crafted entirely using Artificial Intelligence-reimagines Pancham Da’s presence on screen, blending emotion, memory, and melody.
“Kothay Tumi Pancham Da is our tribute to R.D. Burman’s timeless genius. It brings together music and technology in a way that both honours the past and excites today’s audiences,” said Apeksha Lahiri, Director, Asha Audio Company.

For Usha Uthup, who shared a long and cherished musical journey with Pancham Da, the experience was deeply personal. “This was like walking down memory lane,” shared Shiladitya Chaudhury from the composer trio. “Working with Usha Di on this project felt like connecting two eras of music—the magic of Pancham Da’s sound with the possibilities of modern innovation.” The track features lyrics by Utpal, music arrangement and sound design by Som Chakraborty, and AI-driven visuals conceptualised by Abhijit Chakraborty. The video is now streaming across all of Asha Audio’s social media platforms.
