The Nagaon–Batadraba assembly constituency is one of the 126 assembly seats in
Assam and is a general category constituency.
Following the 2023 delimitation exercise, the constituency underwent a significant name change and boundary adjustment (formerly known as the Nowgong constituency) and is now officially designated as the Nagaon–Batadraba Assembly constituency.
In the 2026 Assembly elections, incumbent Rupak Sarmah of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won with a margin of 61,984 against Dr. Durlav Chamua of Congress. Polling for this seat was held on April 9, 2026.
In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency (then Nowgong) had 1,89,965 registered voters, with 1,55,942 valid votes cast. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rupak Sarmah won the seat with 81,098 votes.
Congress candidate Santanu Sarma finished second with 70,015 votes, losing by a margin of 11,083 votes.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had 1,66,796 electors, with 1,40,655 valid votes recorded. BJP’s Rupak Sarmah won with 66,706 votes, defeating Congress candidate Dr. Durlav Chamua, who secured 53,442 votes. The victory margin was 13,264 votes.
