In the 2026 Assembly elections, Mehboob Muktar representing Raijor Dal won the polls with a margin of 71,494 votes against Matiur Rahman of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) with Mukut Kumar Debnath of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the third position.
In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,31,325 registered voters, with 2,07,244 valid votes cast. All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) candidate Aminul Islam won the seat with 1,45,888 votes.
Independent candidate Mehboob Muktar finished second with 42,921 votes, losing by a significant margin of 1,02,967 votes.
