Binnakandi assembly election results 2026: AIUDF's Badruddin Ajmal wins

Binnakandi is a newly formed assembly constituency in Assam's Hojai district. It was established following the 2023 delimitation exercise, redrawing boundaries primarily from the former Jamunamukh seat. Under the new electoral map, it is part of the Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency.In the 2026 Assembly elections, polling for this seat was held on April 9, 2026. The contest featured a high-profile lineup, most notably Badruddin Ajmal, the supremo of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), who chose to contest from this new segment. He beat Rejaul Karim Chowdhury of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) with a margin of 35,380 votes.As this is a new constituency, there are no prior direct election results. However, the political history of the region is rooted in the parent Jamunamukh constituency.
