Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam is gearing up for another regional summit, the World Food India Regional Summit of the southern states on July 9 and July 10. It will be held at the Andhra University Engineering College grounds and will be attended by representatives from the fields of food processing, food technology, exports and investment.
Andhra Pradesh will be the host state, and FICCI will be the nodal agency.
Apart from Andaman and Nicobar and Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka will participate in the event. The summit will provide a platform to attract investments in the food processing sector, showcase cutting-edge technologies, industry partnerships and expand export opportunities. The main objective is to develop the food processing sector in the state, create value-added opportunities for farmers and encourage start-ups, the organisers said. CM Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the conference along with Union and state ministers, besides ministers from the southern states. A preliminary review meeting was held at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.
