Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha said sanitation and uninterrupted drinking water supply to the citizens for the ensuing summer season will be accorded top priority in Vijayawada. He assumed charge as the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) special officer on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmisha stated that the chief minister often refers to Vijayawada as the "Gateway to Amaravati", and in line with that vision, his primary objective is to provide better civic services and enhance public convenience.
On the occasion, Lakshmisha held a meeting with the HoDs and reviewed the ongoing developmental works, projects and various civic initiatives in the city.
He directed the officials to identify high-priority issues related to city development and take immediate action.
He emphasised that special focus would be given to infrastructure development, sanitation, drinking water supply, roads, and other essential civic amenities. He also instructed officials to strive to maintain the city's ranking in the Swachh Survekshan. Durga temple EO VK Seena Naik, VMC additional commissioners Dr D Chandrasekhar and A Ravindra Rao, and others were present.
