Two sub-treasury employees land in ACB net for accepting bribe in Srikakulam
Visakhapatnam: The officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Nalla Ravi Prasad, working as sub-treasury officer and Ambakandi Srinivasa Rao, working as senior accountant at sub-treasury office in Srikakulam for demanding and accepting a a bribe of Rs15,000 from an employee for doing an official favour.As per ACB officials, the complainant L Hema Ragini, earlier worked as a digital assistant, grade-VI in the office of Bantupalli Grama Sachivalayam under Ranasthala mandal in Srikakulam district. She availed medical leave from Jan 3, 2022 to May 3, 2023 and thereafter reported for duty on May 5, 2023.

After resuming duty from medical leave, she was transferred to Killipalem Grama Sachivalayam under Srikakulam rural mandal. Her medical leave was treated as extraordinary leave by the government. The district collector on Dec 24, 2025, issued proceedings declaring her probation with respect from May 5, 2023. Since no salary arrears bill was prepared by the office staff, the complainant received only Rs 15,000 as honorarium for Dec 2025.However, on Jan 10, 2026, the office staff prepared her salary arrears bill for an amount of Rs 4,34,697 for the period from May 5, 2023 to Dec 31, 2025.
As there was no progress in processing her bill, the complainant visited the sub-treasury office in Srikakulam a few days ago and met Ambakandi Srinivasa Rao.Srinivasa Rao demanded Rs 20,000 bribe to process her salary arrears bill. Later she met Nalla Ravi Prasad, who also demanded a Rs15,000 bribe for the favour. Unable to bear the harassment for kickback, she approached the ACB officials. After verifying the facts, the officials laid a trap and nabbed the tainted officers when they were accepting the bribe.
