Visakhapatnam: The city police cracked the murder case of 19-year-old B Venkatesh by arresting eight persons, including a rowdy-sheeter and two juveniles.
Police said that on Wednesday night, rowdy-sheeter P Anil and his associates stormed Venkatesh's home at Ramalayam Street near Isukathota under MVP police station limits. Venkatesh was stabbed to death, while his cousin B Santhosh was attacked with a hammer and sustained injuries.
Investigations revealed that Anil, a resident of Venkojipalem, had earlier been expelled from Vizag city due to repeated offences and was living in Ranasthalam, Srikakulam district. Disputes between him and the victims are believed to have led to the attack.
Police confirmed that Anil and 10 associates carried out the assault, killing Venkatesh and injuring Santhosh. Eight accused have been arrested, while efforts are on to trace the remaining suspects. Santhosh's condition is reported to be stable.
