Naidu directs uninterrupted water supply, releases Rs 1 crore to each district
Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply across Andhra Pradesh and ordered the release of Rs 1 crore each to district collectors to meet local water requirements.Reviewing the functioning of various departments from the RTGS centre, the chief minister instructed officials to deploy water tankers in areas facing scarcity and to repair non-functional borewells. He also directed distribution of drinking water, buttermilk and ORS in regions recording extreme temperatures, with support from voluntary organisations.He also approved a proposal to recognise vehicle dealers as additional vehicle registration authorities to simplify the registration process, and instructed officials to ensure completion of vehicle registrations within 24 hours.He further also directed that an expert advisory council be constituted to enhance and streamline the use of artificial intelligence in delivery of govt services, while directing senior officials to undertake regular field visits to monitor implementation of various govt programmes and welfare schemes. He asked the secretaries to spend three days a month in the field, heads of departments six days, and district collectors eight days interacting with the public.
He instructed officials to provide fishermen with data on fish-abundant zones using AWARE technology after the fishing ban is lifted.Directing officials to take steps to ensure that products manufactured in Andhra Pradesh grow into global brands, Naidu discussed the development of industrial clusters in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati economic regions and setting up of ‘product perfection clusters' across the state. He further stressed on the need to provide port, air, rail, and road connectivity to the industrial clusters. He asked officials to set up at least one mega industrial park in every district to generate employment for local youth and to develop industrial townships near each industrial cluster. Referring to the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur' programme, he said Andhra Pradesh should aim to be among the leading states in MSME establishment.
