Man gets life term for murdering his wife in Guntur

Guntur: A Guntur court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife in a case registered at Nagarampalem Police Station. The judgment was delivered by the Third Additional Sessions Judge Court under Section 302 IPC.The incident occurred on March 26, 2021, around 6.40 am at Srinivasaraopet. The victim, Kota Sirisha (24), was allegedly harassed by her husband, Kota Venkata Tirupati Rao alias Tirupathaiah (31), who suspected her character after marriage. Sirisha approached the court seeking divorce, following which the accused allegedly threatened to kill her.On the day of the incident, the accused went to Sirisha's mother's house with a knife. After her mother and sister fled in fear, he stabbed Sirisha to death while she slept. Their son witnessed the incident. Police arrested the accused after investigation.The court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1,000.
