Tirupati: Former Kadapa deputy mayor Bandi Nithyananda Reddy, who was absconding for the past 20 days, surrendered before Kadapa SP in connection with the Pedda Dasthagiri
murder case on Monday. Dasthagiri, a local realtor who was reportedly involved in a land dispute with the YSRCP leader, was murdered near the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) premises at Kadapa on May 6.
While 11 persons were arrested by the police in connection with the case, Reddy, who was named as A-13 in the case, was absconding. After his efforts to secure protection from the high court did not materialise, he decided to surrender. His counsel Nagi Reddy said he will fully cooperate with the police in the investigation, while claiming that that his client never had any land dealings with Dasthagiri. Kadapa police have shifted Nithyananda Reddy to an undisclosed location for questioning.
