Vijayawada: In recognition of exemplary contributions to the nursing profession, the medical and health department has selected five nursing professionals for the prestigious Florence Nightingale Awards-2025. Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav will felicitate the awardees at a programme to be held in Guntur on Tuesday, as part of the International Nurses Day celebrations.
Officials said the awards were finalised based on outstanding performance in research, nursing education, administration, patient care and public health services.
Nellore Narayana Nursing College principal Dr B Vanaja Kumari, has been selected for the Best Nurse Researcher award for her contributions to nursing research and academic development., while Dr. C.R. Samsher Begum, Vizianagaram MIMS College of Nursing principal Dr CR Samsher Begum, will receive the Best Nurse Administrator award in recognition of her leadership and administrative services in the nursing sector. Machilipatnam Nursing Medical College lecturer Dr K Suganthi, has been chosen for the Best Nurse Educator award for her role in strengthening nursing education and training.
Among the service category awardees, S Chinnammi, Head Nurse at the Community Health Centre in Budithi of Srikakulam district, has been selected for the Best Nursing Services award. K Savitri, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) working at the Primary Health Centre in Chukkaluru of Anantapur district, will be honoured with the Best ANM Award for her services in rural healthcare delivery.
