Man dies by suicide three days after wedding in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Celebrations gave way to grief after a 29-year-old man died allegedly by suicide just three days after his marriage in Gorakhpur.The deceased, identified as Rudranath Jaiswal alias Minshu, reportedly consumed a poisonous substance late Tuesday. According tofamily members, he was pacing on the terrace when his mother noticed him. He told her that he had ingested poison and pleaded to be saved.Family members immediately rushed him to a hospital, where he died during treatment.Jaiswal, who helped his father run the family eatery, married a woman from Nautanwa, Maharajganj on Saturday. She reached her marital home Sunday as post-wedding rituals continued.Police said the reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained. “The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway,” said Ravi Singh, circle officer, Gorakhnath.
