Two-wheeler rider rams mini-truck, dies

Trichy: A 31-year-old man on a two-wheeler was killed after he rammed a stationery mini-truck on Bharathiyar Road near Trichy Junction railway station here on Tuesday morning. Police identified the deceased as R Anandraj, from RVS Nagar near KK Nagar. He was working abroad and returned home recently. On Tuesday, around 2am, Anandraj while riding his two-wheeler near Birds Road junction in Cantonment rammed a Trichy corporation mini truck, parked on the road side. In the impact, Anandraj sustained severe injuries in his forehead and face. Subsequently, he was rushed to MGMGH. However, doctors declared him brought dead. Mini truck driver Gopi sustained minor injuries in hands and legs. Trichy city traffic investigation wing (south) registered a case and confiscated the mini-truck.
