Two minor boys arrested for thefts
Trichy: Two 17-year-old boys were arrested in connection with separate theft cases reported near Gandhi Market in Trichy.In the first incident, R Sivakumar, a 43-year-old sales executive from Thuraiyur, had parked his two-wheeler outside a private shop at Gandhi Market when he visited the area on business. When he returned, the motorcycle was missing. Based on his complaint, Gandhi Market police registered a case and, during investigation, arrested a 17-year-old boy. He was booked under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In another case, A Jovitaprithi, 32, caretaker of Sarah Polyclinic Hospital in Varaganeri, locked the hospital on Tuesday night and left for her house in Viswas Nagar. Later, the building owner noticed that the gate lock had been broken and alerted her. On inspection, Jovitaprithi found that Rs6,000 kept at the reception had been stolen after an intruder entered the premises. Police registered a case and arrested another 17-year-old boy in connection with the break-in. He was booked under Sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the BNS for house trespass and theft. Both minors were produced before authorities under juvenile justice procedures and lodged in an observation home.
