Trichy gets scattered rainfall

Trichy: There was some relief for Trichy residents from the sweltering heat on Wednesday as scattered rainfall was reported in several parts of the city. Accompanied by cool breezes, it offered residents a pleasant break from the prevailing hot and humid conditions.Areas including Cantonment, Woraiyur and Thillai Nagar received light to moderate showers. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature was expected to hover around 36°C, while the minimum temperature was 27°C. The previous spell of rain in Trichy was recorded late on May 4. The showers also led to brief power disruptions in some localities. There was also moderate rainfall in Pudukkottai and Arimalam.
