KALYAN: Police in Kalyan have arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals — six women and one man — who illegally entered India just 13 days ago. Shockingly, one of the women managed to obtain an Aadhaar card within days of arrival using forged documents. Police are now searching for the local individual who helped her secure the ID.The arrested have been identified as Shipa Pathan (27), Sharmin Islam (20), Reema Ahmad (29), Sumaya Kasim (20), Pournima Mohammad Suleman Akhtar (19), Joya Jasmin (21), and Rocky Rahim Badshah, all residents of Bangladesh.According to ACP Kalyan Division Kalyanji Ghete, the Mahatma Phule police station team received a tip-off that several women had crossed the border illegally and were hiding in Kalyan. Acting on the information, a team led by Senior Inspector Baliramsingh Pardeshi conducted a raid and arrested the accused. Rocky, the lone male, is suspected of helping the women enter and settle in the city.Investigations revealed that Shipa Pathan, despite being in India for just 13 days, used the help of a local person in the Vivar area to obtain an Aadhaar card with bogus papers. Authorities suspect that more Bangladeshis were in contact with Rocky, and efforts are underway to track them down. The arrests have highlighted concerns over the ease of securing Aadhaar through fake documents and the possible existence of a wider network assisting illegal immigrants.
