Inclement weather likely to continue till May 10: Met
Ranchi: The Met office has issued warning for thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds from till Sunday, bringing further respite from the heatwave-like conditions for the most of April.Thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over the state from Wednesday to Sunday. For Wednesday, the weather office said, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (50-60 kmph) accompanied by heavy rain and hailstorm are likely at isolated places over districts such as Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro and Dhanbad."There will be a fall in the maximum temperature by 3-4 degrees Celsius in the next two days. Thereafter, there will be no large change in temperature in the subsequent three days," Abhishek Anand, deputy director of Ranchi Met office, said on Tuesday.The current weather conditions are due to a trough that now runs from the cyclonic circulation over central parts of south Madhya Pradesh to Bihar across north Chhattisgarh, southeast Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand at 0.9 km above mean sea level, along with another north-south trough at 3.1 km above mean sea level, the Met office said in its bulletin.During the past 24 hours till Tuesday morning, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms occurred at many places over the state. Heavy rainfall was also recorded at isolated places. The highest 82.2 mm of rainfall occurred at Tenughat (Bokaro).The highest maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Daltonganj, while the lowest temperature of 15.5C was recorded at Kanke (Ranchi). Ranchi recorded a maximum of 34.4C and a minimum of 19.6C on Tuesday.
