Hazaribag: The inspector general (IG) of CISF, Amit Mathur, took a stock of the security at NTPC’s Keredari and Chatti Bariatu coal mining projects here on Friday. Mathur, who came from Patna, inspected various sections of both projects. NTPC officials said the visit was primarily conducted to review the security arrangements in the project areas and assess the number of required CISF personnel. Security for the workers and the projects would soon be strengthened further by deploying more CISF forces in both mines, NTPC said in a statement. It is noteworthy that incidents of firing and vandalism by anti-social elements have been occurring intermittently in the project areas. These incidents created not only an atmosphere of fear among the employees but also disrupted mining and dispatch operations.
