MEA Spokesperson Says India Maintains Contact With Afghan Authorities Amid Taliban Rule

India has reaffirmed its continued engagement with Afghan authorities, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. Addressing questions on the recognition of the Taliban government in Kabul, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted India’s long-standing ties with the people of Afghanistan. He said India remains committed to supporting the aspirations, welfare, and development needs of Afghan citizens, while maintaining diplomatic contact with the authorities. The statement reflects India’s careful approach of balancing humanitarian and developmental assistance with ongoing political uncertainty in Afghanistan. India’s engagement aims to ensure continuity of aid and strengthen its longstanding relationship with the Afghan people.
