Babulal Marandi blames state govt for Katras tragedy

Dhanbad: Three days after seven people died in the land subsidence tragedy that occurred on Friday at the Ramkanali-based patch of BCCL's Katras mining project in Dhanbad district, leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Monday inspected the affected site blamed the state govt and the local administration for the tragedy.

“The Dhanbad administration is responsible for this incident. Illegal mining must be stopped immediately. If outsourcing companies are at fault, strict action should also be taken against them,” Marandi said.

Baghmara MLA Shatrughan Mahato also accompanied him during the visit. Both leaders assured villagers that they would raise the issue in the Assembly and demand justice for the victims.
