Ranchi: The court of additional judicial commissioner (AJC-I) here on Friday granted bail to 154 candidates who were arrested on April 11 in connection with fake question paper leak of excise constable competitive examination.
While delivering the verdict, AJC Yogesh Kumar directed the accusedto furnish two bail bonds of Rs 20,000 each, adding that one of the bailors must be a close relative. Former advocate general Ajit Kumar, who led a team of advocates to plead for the petitioners, argued that as per the registered FIR, the case was neither of a question paper leak nor the candidates used unfair means in an examination.
The excise constable examination was held at various centres on April 12. On the eve of the exam, a police team raided an under-construction nursing training centre near Radgaon village in Ranchi district and nabbed 166 people, including 159 aspirants, 2 drivers and 5 members of an inter-state solver gang.
A case was registered in this connection under various sections of BNSS, BNS and Section 12 (3) of the Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Prevention and Redressal Unfair Means in Recruitment Act). Following the examination, Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission chairman
