Rajkot: Bagasara police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly murdering his wife near the Bagasara Marketing Yard following a domestic dispute.
The deceased, identified as Vilas alias Hina Parmar (31), was allegedly attacked by her husband, Vijay alias Gani Parmar, with a trident and an axe.
The incident came to light after the woman's elder brother, Pintu Khetliya, received a call from his nephew on Tuesday, informing him that his father had killed his mother. The victim's mother-in-law, Hansa, later confirmed the killing to Pintu.
When Pintu reached the residence, he found his sister lying in a pool of blood in the porch. His nephew told him that a domestic argument had escalated, during which Vijay allegedly attacked Vilas with the weapons.
She was rushed to Bagasara Civil Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 103(1) and 85.
