Raipur: The Chhattisgarh trio of Syed Kasamla Ali, Anika Teja, and Palla Raja secured a bronze medal in the Under-14 Sabre team event at the 69th National School Games.
The team, representing the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), achieved the podium finish during the championship held in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from 22 to 25 Dec 2025.
Chhattisgarh began their campaign with a 15-12 victory over Punjab in the pre-quarterfinals. They maintained their winning momentum by defeating Kerala 15-13 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal, the team fell to hosts Maharashtra with a score of 9-15, eventually settling for the bronze medal.
The five-day national event attracted nearly 1,200 fencers from various states and units across the country.
