A long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could finally happen next summer. Promoter Frank Warren believes the all-British heavyweight fight is heading toward a blockbuster date at Wembley Stadium. Talks have gathered momentum after Joshua’s recent win and Fury’s continued hints about a return to the ring.
Joshua comes into the discussion fresh from a sixth-round knockout victory over
Jake Paul in Miami. That fight reportedly drew 33 million viewers on Netflix. After the bout, Joshua openly challenged Fury and urged his long-time rival to face him next. Fury, meanwhile, is still spending time on holiday with his family as he ponders over his next move.

Frank Warren has made it clear that an immediate fight between Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is unlikely. Joshua already has a bout scheduled for February in Riyadh. Fury, who has been inactive for months, would not be ready to return that quickly. Warren explained that a February comeback for Fury is unrealistic due to his long break and current holiday.
Speaking to The Sun, Warren revealed the ideal solution is a summer or early autumn showdown.
He pointed to Wembley or Riyadh as the only realistic venues for a fight of this size. In his view, Wembley makes more sense, but that would naturally push the bout to the summer months. He also stressed that Fury would not sit idle for seven months and is expected to take an interim fight before facing Joshua. Warren confirmed, however, that Fury has no interest in fighting YouTubers.
Joshua, has been linked with a possible crossover fight against kickboxing star Rico Verhoeven for his February return in Saudi Arabia. Fury could return as early as April in a tune-up fight.
Fury officially retired in January after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk. Warren revealed he recently spoke with Fury and said the former champion remains open to returning if his conditions are met. He added that Fury has been staying active and maintaining his fitness even while not training specifically for a fight.
Warren also addressed Joshua’s win over Paul. He said the result went exactly as expected, with the bigger and more experienced fighter overpowering a much less seasoned opponent.
Comparing Fury and Joshua, Warren pointed out that Fury’s losses to Usyk were extremely close. He also highlighted Joshua’s recent defeat to Daniel Dubois, where Joshua was repeatedly knocked down.
