Man held for hacking salon owner to death at Wadgaon Budruk

Pune: The Sinhagad Road police on Tuesday morning arrested Yuvraj Gegaje (39) for allegedly assaulting a salon owner Rupesh Bhandirge (41) of Narhe to death outside his salon at Wadgaon Budruk, near Sinhagad Road, around 10pm on Sunday.The victim's brother Nilesh (38) of Warje lodged a complaint with the police on Monday.Assistant inspector Sameer Karpe of Sinhagad Road police said, “We arrested Gegaje from a spot in the old city where he was hiding after assaulting Bhandgire to death.”Karpe said, “Gegaje and Bhandirge knew each other very well. Gegaje suspected that Bhandirge was having an affair with his wife and had previously argued with him over the issue.”“He had earlier warned Bhandirge to stay away from his wife. On Sunday night, Gegaje allegedly visited the salon and assaulted Bhandirge to death with a sharp weapon after calling him outside the shop,” he said.“After the assault, Gegaje fled the spot on his two-wheeler,” he said.
