Pune: The Bhosari MIDC police recently arrested four men in connection with the brutal murder of Republican Party of India (Athavale) Kaamgar Aghadi state executive president Anil Murti More on May 13, but the prime accused is still at large.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by senior inspector Ganesh Jamdar arrested Nagesh Kale (29), Ajay Gaikwad (20), Ajay Avhad (27) and Datta Shingare (30), all residents of Bhosari. “The main accused, who hatched the murder plot, is absconding,” an officer from the Bhosari MIDC police said.
He said the police had constituted five teams to trace the accused in the case. “With the help of technical investigations and inputs from informers, we nabbed four suspects from the Bhosari area. They have admitted to their involvement in the murder. Our investigation is on,” he said.
The officer said More’s murder was the fallout of an old dispute. The accused allegedly attacked More on May 13 with sharp weapons when he was in a bar in Moshi. On the way to the hospital, More told his driver that two men had assaulted him.
