Iran has unleashed a fierce ultimatum against Washington, demanding the immediate release of billions in frozen assets and warning Trump that talks could collapse without it. Tehran says the return of the money is a “legal right” of the Iranian people, while accusing the US of acting through “force and aggression” instead of diplomacy. The explosive standoff comes as negotiations over Hormuz, sanctions and Iran’s nuclear programme hang by a thread.
