Ara: A minor dispute over a social media post allegedly led to a violent attack on a 23-year-old man in Bhojpur district late on Wednesday night, leaving him with serious gunshot injuries. The incident occurred on the Ara-Sasaram state highway near Semraon village under Charpokhari police station.
The injured, Chandan Kumar, a resident of Kanai village under Charpokhari police station, sustained a bullet injury to his neck. He was initially taken to Charpokhari primary health centre and later shifted to Sadar hospital, Ara, before being referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment.

“I was on my way to Laharpa village under the Garhani police station to attend my friend’s marriage on Wednesday night when all of a sudden three bike-borne miscreants overtook my bike near Semraon village and fired at me,” Chandan said from his hospital bed in Ara.
He added that three days earlier he had an altercation with a youth from the same village, who is related to him, over a social media post. “The accused youth used abusive language on my post. When I opposed to his objectionable language, he threatened me with dire consequences,” the injured told reporters.
Charpokhari SHO Santosh Kumar Singh said, “The statement of the youth has been taken. Further investigation and raids are going on to nab the accused.”
