Tripura to serve as engine of new India, inspire other states: MoS Jitendra Singh

Agartala: Union minister of state for science and technology Jitendra Singh on Thursday acknowledged Tripura’s potential, highlighting the state’s ability to not only become a new driver of India’s growth but also to serve as the “engine of new India”, inspiring other states.During the launch of the State Innovation Mission here, Singh praised the Tripura govt’s initiative in establishing this visionary programme. As India’s first-ever State Innovation Commission, the launch of State Innovation Mission sets a benchmark for other states and Union Territories. The minister expressed confidence that this innovation journey, initiated in one of the country’s northeastern states, will eventually motivate and influence innovation nationwide. Reflecting on the Atal Innovation Mission, he underlined its transformative impact, noting that it introduced a novel concept distinct from earlier frameworks like the Planning Commission and Niti Aayog, marking a bold step that has yielded results over the past several years.
