Gaya: Three people, including two youths and an elderly woman, were killed in two separate road accidents in Gaya on Thursday night.
Prakash Kumar and Shrikant Das, both in their late 20s and residents of Jamuhar Laladih village under Mohanpur police station in Gaya, were riding a motorcycle to Dobhi when an unidentified vehicle hit them near Mayapur. Both sustained critical injuries and later died during treatment at a hospital the same night.
Barachatti station house officer inspector Amrendra Kishore said the bodies were handed over to the families after post-mortem. “Police are trying to identify the vehicle involved in the incident,” he added.
In another incident, a 60-year-old woman, Domini Devi, died and five others sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in overturned near Pipra village under Wazirganj police station late on Thursday night.
All the victims, residents of Baniya Bigha village in Nawada district, were returning home after attending a cremation. The injured have been admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya.
