PM Modi Dials Iran President, Flags Indian Safety, Energy Supply Risks Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

India has intensified its diplomatic outreach as the Middle East crisis threatens global energy supply routes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing deep concern over the escalating conflict and its humanitarian impact. The Prime Minister stressed that protecting Indian citizens and ensuring uninterrupted energy flows remain India’s top priorities. The crisis has put global attention on the Strait of Hormuz, through which a massive portion of the world’s oil and gas trade passes. Any disruption could directly impact India, one of the world’s largest energy importers. Meanwhile, India continues diplomatic engagement across the Gulf region while External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar holds talks with Iranian leaders to ensure safe shipping routes and stability in energy markets.
