Three injured in firing over sand commission in Patna
Patna: Three people, including a 12-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries in a firing incident over sand and gravel commission at Khusrupur’s Chainpur village in Patna district on Thursday morning. More than 10 rounds were fired during the clash between two groups.
Police from Khusrupur station reached the spot after receiving information. The injured were first taken to Khusrupur primary health centre and later referred to Patna for better treatment due to their critical condition.
The injured have been identified as 12-year-old Neha Kumari, daughter of Vikas Kumar; 50-year-old Sona Devi, wife of Arun Singh; and 26-year-old Deepak Kumar, son of Ravindra Prasad. Sona was shot in the leg and Deepak in the stomach. Neha also sustained serious bullet injuries.
According to villagers, a dispute over commission in sand-gravel supply suddenly turned violent. Gunshots triggered panic, and people rushed inside their homes to stay safe.

“A search operation is underway to identify and arrest those involved in the firing. The injured are being treated at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) and are out of danger. Heavy police deployment has been made to maintain law and order in the village. The victims have alleged that the firing occurred due to demand of commission in sand and gravel trading. Further investigation is underway,” the SHO said.
