CM to RWD: Fix quality, meet deadlines
Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday asked the rural works department (RWD) to prioritise rural road widening projects to meet the needs of a growing population and rising goods traffic.“Better road connectivity gives a fillip to the rural economy and improves access to education, health and employment,” he said.The CM was reviewing RWD’s plans and works at Lok Sewak Niwas, his official residence. RWD secretary Dewesh Sehra made a detailed presentation on the progress of various projects.Choudhary directed officials to prioritise new rural roads based on public interest, sub-regional development and local connectivity needs. “Select projects accordingly, ensure timely completion with full transparency, and maintain quality standards,” he said.He stressed that along with construction of roads and bridges, proper maintenance is equally important. He asked the department to monitor the condition of old roads, undertake strengthening work, and ensure that repair of damaged rural roads is not delayed.
