Patna: A Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) employee was allegedly thrashed by the driver, guard, and supporters of a BJP MLC near R-Block roundabout in the state capital on Saturday after a minor collision between two vehicles.The injured person was identified as Narendra Kumar, who works as a driver in Pesu.Kumar claimed the BJP MLC’s car, driving on the wrong side, hit a bamboo ladder on his official vehicle, triggering an argument that escalated into a fight. He alleged that he was dragged and beaten up after which he was injured. Despite attempts by nearby police to intervene, the assault continued.An FIR was filed at the Secretariat police station based on Kumar’s statement. SDPO, Secretariat, Anu Kumari, said a report was received that a man was assaulted after his vehicle collided with another while turning at R-Block.“Upon receiving the information, the Secretariat police arrived at the incident site. The person who was assaulted was admitted to the hospital, and the identity of those responsible for the assault is being verified. A formal complaint is being filed, and appropriate action will be taken against the accused,” she said.
