Guwahati: Tej Hazarika, the son of Bhupen Hazarika, arrived from the US with his family to add emotional weight to the birth centenary celebrations. Tej expressed that “much remains to be discovered” about his father’s lesser-known works.State cultural affairs minister Bimal Borah reviewed preparations on Saturday at Khanapara Veterinary College ground, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the main event of the year-long centenary tribute, on Sept 13. The birth centenary celebrations will kick off on Sept 8.Tej spoke to the media in New Delhi on Saturday before heading to Guwahati for the memorable event. “It’s a once-in-a-hundred-year occasion,” he said.
