Uttarakhand CM hands over appointment letters to teachers, government says 25,000 recruited in four years
Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 15 assistant teachers selected for Government Ashram Method Schools under the tribal welfare department. According to official figures, more than 25,000 candidates have been recruited into government services during the four years of Dhami’s tenure. Since July 2021, recruitment has taken place through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Subordinate Services Selection Commission, and Medical Services Selection Commission. Officials said selection processes are ongoing in multiple departments and that the number of permanent appointments is expected to increase as final recommendations are made. The state government has also launched the Chief Minister Skill Development and Global Employment Scheme in 2022 to provide training in hospitality, nursing, and automobile sectors for overseas jobs. So far, 154 candidates have been trained under the scheme, with 37 securing placements in Japan. In 2024, an anti-cheating law was introduced to curb exam paper leaks, and officials said more than 100 people have been jailed under the law.
