Patna: Urban development and housing minister Nitish Mishra on Monday called for strict and time-bound action on all pending complaints and vigilance cases in his department, reiterating a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, irregularities and negligence.Chairing a high-level review meeting on complaints and monitoring cases, Mishra asked officials to give top priority to the disposal of grievances filed by MPs and legislators against departmental officers.“Issues raised by public representatives reflect the aspirations and problems of the people. Any unnecessary delay in their resolution is unacceptable,” Mishra said.He asked officials to prepare a clear standard operating procedure (SOP) for complaint redressal and ensure its strict implementation for timely, transparent and effective resolution of grievances. The minister also ordered all investigations into complaints and allegations to be conducted in fast-track mode. He said strict action should be taken against guilty officials in accordance with rules, while baseless or false complaints should be disposed of promptly to safeguard the morale of honest officers.Making the department’s stand clear, Mishra said it would follow a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption, laxity and violations of rules.“No irregularity at any level will be tolerated,” he said.He also stressed that all inquiries must be fair, fact-based and transparent. Good performers should be encouraged as part of good governance, he added.
