Land mafia held for forging sale deeds in Araria

Araria: Police on Wednesday evening arrested Mohd Wasique, a notorious land mafia, from Jokihat for forging land documents and govt orders to grab private property. The arrest followed a complaint by Nazrul Hasan, circle officer (CO) of Jokihat in Araria district.According to officials, Wasique had prepared fake sale deeds and other forged papers to justify his illegal possession of land. He even presented these documents during a Janata Darbar, urging the CO to transfer (mutate) the land in his name. Sensing foul play, the CO sent the documents to the district sub-registrar for verification. The inquiry revealed that all papers were bogus. Following this, the CO lodged an FIR against Wasique.Jokihat SHO Rajiv Kumar Jha acted swiftly, arrested the accused, and sent him to jail.Abuzar, district spokesman of AIMIM, praised the police action and sought a detailed inquiry into such frauds and strict action against those grabbing land of innocent people.
