Judicial association seeks apology from deputy CM over remarks on judge
Patna: The Bihar Judicial Services Association has sought an apology from deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha over his “highly objectionable and deeply disturbing” remarks against a judge. In a letter to governor Arif Mohammed Khan and CM Nitish Kumar, BJSA secretary Ajit Kumar Singh highlighted a viral video clip where Sinha, who is also minister of revenue & land reforms, mines & geology, and urban development and housing departments, allegedly questioned integrity and impartiality of a judicial officer. In the video, Sinha purportedly suggests that a judge, who resolved a case swiftly, may have done so due to vested “interests”, and his conduct should be reported to the Chief Justice of the Patna HC. The TOI, however, has not independently verified the video’s authenticity.
