Govt transfers several IAS officers in major administrative reshuffle
Patna: In a major administrative reshuffle, the state govt on Friday transferred several IAS officers, reassigned departmental secretaries and handed additional responsibilities to a number of senior officials.
IAS officer Mayank Warwade of the 2001-batch has been appointed divisional commissioner of Patna. He replaces Animesh Kumar Parashar, who will continue as managing director of the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (Buidco).
Among the notable postings, 2021-batch IAS officer and UPSC topper Shubham Kumar has been made new deputy development commissioner of Patna district.
As per notifications issued by the general administration department (GAD), K Senthil Kumar, a 1996-batch IAS officer and additional chief secretary of the sugar cane industry department, has been appointed additional chief secretary of the labour resources and migrant workers welfare department. He has also been given additional charge of the backward classes and extremely backward classes welfare department.
The reshuffle also involved withdrawal of additional charges from some officers. B Rajender, a 1995-batch IAS officer and additional chief secretary of the GAD, has been relieved of the additional charge of the education and sports departments. Vinod Singh Gunjyal, a 2007-batch IAS officer and chief electoral officer, Bihar, has now been assigned additional charge of the education and sports departments.
Deepak Anand, a 2007-batch IAS officer and secretary of the labour resources department, has been transferred to the food and consumer protection dpartment in the same capacity.
Rajesh Kumar, a 2001-batch IAS officer and Kosi division commissioner, has been appointed principal secretary of the public health and engineering department. Pankaj Kumar Pal, a 2002-batch IAS officer, has been posted as secretary of the road construction department.
At the divisional commissioner level, Prem Singh Meena, divisional commissioner of Munger, has been given additional charge of Bhagalpur division. Dinesh Kumar, a 2007-batch IAS officer, has been posted as divisional commissioner of Kosi at Saharsa and will also hold additional charge of Purnia divisional commissioner.
Avanish Kumar Singh, a 2010-batch IAS officer and Bhagalpur division commissioner, has been appointed secretary-cum-mines commissioner in the mines and geology department.
In the chief minister’s secretariat, two 2020-batch IAS officers have been posted as joint secretaries. Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar, who was serving as deputy development commissioner in Patna, and Gunjan Singh, who was posted in Bhojpur, have both been appointed joint secretaries.
Divesh Sehra, secretary of the rural works department, has been relieved of all additional responsibilities in the mines department. Lokesh Kumar Singh, secretary of the tourism department, has also been relieved of the additional charge of the science and technology department.
